TRANSCENDENS (transcendent, transcendental)

превосходящий, переходящий, трансцендентный. Употребляется в двух смыслах: 1) как то, что превосходит всякий опыт, и 2) все, что не включено в сознание познающего. Августин писал: «Превзойди и себя самого» (Августин. Об истинной религии 72). Платоники, «чтобы найти Бога, перешагнули все тела... чтобы найти верховного Бога, стали выше всякой души и всех изменчивых духов» (Августин. О Граде Божием. Т. 2. С. 13). Боэций, определяя три способности постижения вещей - чувство, воображение, разум, полагает, что разум, который обдумывает благодаря целостному созерцанию образ, присущий единичным вещам, превосходит (transcendit) воображение. У схоластов трансцендирование выражается во всеобщих терминах, лежащих в основе предикаментов (истина, единство, благо). Так, по Фоме Аквинскому, «священное учение» свидетельствует «о том, что своей высотой превосходит (transcendunt) разум» (Thomas Aquinas. Sum. theol. I, 1,5; см. так же: Фома Аквинский. Сумма теологии. Т. 2. С. 150-151 наст. изд.). В схоластике transcendens было тождественно transcendentales.
